WHAT IS THE BANJO

Banjo was invented by Joe Sweeney in United States in s.XIX, it is a musical instrument from 4 until 10 strings,  consitituted with a wood ring of 35cm of  diameter covered with an plastic or skin patch. 

The mix of the materials get a particular sound.

It is famous because black musicians exploted their rhythmic possibilities.

There are a different types of banjo which are:

- Modern banjo: It is build with metalic strings.

- Pelctrum banjo: It is a standard banjo without the short string.

- Tenor banjo: It is the smallest banjo.

- Double bass banjo: It was a essential in the orchestras in s.XIX and XX.
